This hand forged blade was made from 1084 High carbon steel. I use this steel because it can hold its very sharp edge for much longer than stainless steel. The polished blade is topped with forged scale texture at the top. This is what the steel looks like right off the anvil! I like to keep this texture because of its beauty, and the evidence of the manufacturing techniques.

The guard is forged from mild steel, and curled over for decoration, a unique forge texture finish was left on the steel to give it a rustic charm. The wooden handle is made from very rare Red Heart wood.

On the top spine of the blade I carved decretive file work grooves for added texture for the user, and ascetics.

This piece doesn’t have a sheath made for it yet, but one can be made on demand. Please inquire on the contact me page. I will make a leather sheath for an additional 120$.
